Have a look at this video clip to see how Yiqing Yin achieved an anatomical metamorphosis to express her “totems” theme at her haute couture show. With organic cuts and exquisite draping, the Parisian designer blended hints of animal and human characteristics in summer furs.
Yiqing Yin started cutting and sculpting while at Saga Furs Design Centre a few months ago, burning the midnight oil to get a good head start on her haute couture collection. At the same time, she was preparing for the launch of her new ready-to-wear line to be out in the spring.
At the HC show in Paris, Yiqing awed the audience with pieces to fit both collections.
One piece that got everybody talking is a lush gown with embroidery on diaphanous material, and Saga Furs® Fawn Light Shadow Fox as the centrepiece.
Her Silver Fox coat with matching hat is another tribute to the totem theme, in a piece that’s virtually more of a being than a garment.
With her Red Stone Fox vest, the designer again deftly melds animal and human elements into something truly organic.
