The prohibition of fur breeding, the objective of the citizens’ initiative being considered in the Finnish parliament, conflicts with government objectives aimed at increasing business initiatives and the spirit of enterprise, states Saga Furs Oyj Pertti Fallenius in a memorandum submitted 23 May to the Finnish government’s Committee on Agriculture and Forestry.

Saga Furs will be offering certified collections of all types of fox pelts to be sold at auction in the upcoming season that begins in December 2013.

Saga Furs recently did a photo shoot of 21 garments from partners in Hong Kong, Italy, Greece and Russia. The companies will be able to use the campaign photos for point-of-sale displays, websites, catalogues and other materials.

Saga Furs selling days for September auction have slightly changed. The September auction will be held between 17 and 20 September, with inspection starting 14 September.

WebSampo is an effective new assortative breeding program designed for farmers to help them choose the right breeding animals.  And it helps to upgrade the quality and quantity of pelts offered at Saga Furs auctions. With it, fur breeders will have access to a data bank that will facilitate and improve the breeding of mink, fox and Finnraccoon.

Themes, moods, colour and challenges were in the bags of four students who brought ideas to their seminar at SFDC. All novices in working with fur, the participants worked on future projects and got an excellent feeling for the luxury material.
