Creative furrier to Design Centre to build up a new future for fur

Saga Furs’ Design Centre in Copenhagen is looking for a fulltime furrier to join the team of 9 colleagues. The furriers work in creative product development environment where they push the limits of fur. At Saga Furs, the task is not big chain productions, but working with trends, creativity, fashion, and renewing the art that is fur.

Since the doors opened in 1988, around 30,000 designers, students, fashion editors, furriers, clothing manufacturers and others who influence fashion have been to the Design Centre. The craft techniques developed at Saga Furs have become the building blocks of modern fashionable fur. Designers learn techniques from us, apply their own creativity and construct the fashion pieces shown on runways around the world.

 

What are we looking for:

  • Furrier with advanced cutting and sewing skills
  • A creative and product-development minded person who feels confident to push the limits of using fur
  • Someone who is open to new ideas, adaptable to fast changes and is inspired about working with team.
  • A person with good communication and teaching skills to work with students and designers – fluent English is a must
  • Someone who likes international travel

Saga Furs wants to recruit talented people who can work in a challenging international environment.

Permanent positions

Saga Furs has approximately 140 permanent employees located in various spots around the globe. More than half of them work at our headquarters in Vantaa, Finland. Others are located in the countries where we source pelts, important manufacturing countries, key markets and the fashion capitals of the world.

Along with management and administration positions, the staff at Vantaa work in fur sorting and grading, warehousing and security.

Seasonal positions

During the fur-sorting season, from November through May, Saga Furs employs more than 200 additional people.

We train new staff members to develop their skills in every phase of the sorting process. Many of them return to our team year after year.

Auction assistants

At each auction, Saga Furs hires 100-200 auction assistants. Their task is to assist international fur buyers when they inspect pelts prior to the actual selling, and possibly some duties during the auction itself.

Auction assistants are employed for up to one week at a time during the 4-5 auction periods each year.

Saga Furs has more than 600 permanent or seasonal employees during peak periods.
