Saga Furs put super-lux at the podium of the Accessories Council Design Excellence Awards in New York. Saga presented six unique accessories collections where the legendary BLACKGLAMA mink was used.
Design Excellence Awards competition celebrates outstanding new and innovative products and it offer the designers and brands an exciting platform to celebrate products. This is why Saga Furs was honored to be part of the awards for a second year in a row with its own program. This year, the Saga Furs’ Award was titled the Saga Furs Blackglama to highlight the auction house’s exclusive sale of the mink.
“Saga selected six top designers that were asked to design accessories collections based upon their creativity and ongoing cooperations with Saga Furs. The designers were teamed up with New York City fur factories and given the task of thinking outside the box in designing their Blackglama accessories”, says Charlie Ross, Saga Furs’ Business Manager, North America.
Each designer was also aware that they were using a sustainable and certified fur product coming from the finest fur farms in Wisconsin and Utah in the USA.
“What I am very proud of is that all of the Blackglama pelts used in the accessories are traceable all the way back to the individual farms using the newly launched Saga Trac RFID technology.”
There are only handful of farms that can provide Blackglama pelts and understandably also the ranchers were excited to see the outcome of their work in finished accessories designed by top fashion names.
“With our groundbreaking Saga Trac technology, we can give complete transparency in the whole supply chain from the farm to shop floor.”
Needles to say, we are excited to see the Saga Trac in full use by all the fashion brands and designers. While we wait for that, have a look at the exquisite accessories the Saga-selected designers made together with the prestigious USA-based manufacturers.
