The partnership between Madrid based ISEM Fashion Business School and Saga Furs continues to thrive. It brings together education, innovation, and industry insight. During the June auction the latest group of ISEM students and their supervisors visited Saga Furs.
Each year, Saga Furs challenges students to explore the company’s operations with an open mind and a creative approach. This time, their mission was to develop a bold, consumer-focused strategy for the traditionally business-to-business focused company.
The assignment was to find ways for Saga Furs to connect directly with consumers. In response, the students reimagined what new opportunities might emerge by shifting perspectives and breaking established patterns. The group presented their ideas to an audience gathered at the Saga Furs Creative Hub.

A learning journey into the sustainability of fur
None of the students had prior experience with fur. As they immersed themselves in the subject, the group discovered the complexity and depth of the sustainability and the extent to which Saga Furs is involved in promoting transparency.
”I didn’t know how sustainable fur really is. This was a great opportunity to learn how Saga Furs contributes to sustainability across the entire value chain,” said Mercedes Olcina.
Their learning journey into fur began in December 2024, when they participated in a hands-on workshop in Madrid led by Saga Furs’ furrier Vittoria Tosatto. The session introduced them to the company’s traceability solutions, which ensure ethical sourcing—from farm to finished product.
The project culminated in a visit to Finland. Their presentation and proposals offered a fresh lens through which to view the fur industry—challenging conventional models and imagining new paths forward.
Collaboration encourages innovation and creativity around fur
ISEM Fashion Business School is renowned for shaping the future leaders of the fashion industry. Each year, a new group of Executive MBA students take on a unique challenge set by Saga Furs. The goal of the partnership is to encourage innovation and creativity while giving students an immersive, hands-on experience in the world of fur.
Saga Furs values this collaboration as an opportunity to engage with the next generation of fashion professionals. It also offers an opportunity to gain fresh perspectives on Saga Furs’ own business. It was a pleasure to witness the creativity and passion the students have.
