Saga Furs and Paris College of Art have had an ongoing collaboration for three years

The team from the Saga Furs Creative Hub visited Paris College of Art as part of this long-term partnership. The purpose of the visit was to share insights into the global fur business, ranging from craftsmanship and innovation to sustainability and evolving market perspectives. At the same time, it provided an opportunity to engage in open, forward-looking dialogue with the next generation of fashion creatives.

The visit brought together an international group of students representing diverse cultural and creative backgrounds, including participants from the United States, Japan, Korea, and Mexico. The academic setting itself reflected this global outlook, with one tutor being a graduate of Collège LaSalle Montreal. This diversity provided a strong foundation for meaningful discussion and the exchange of ideas.

Throughout the session, students demonstrated strong interest in understanding how animals are raised and how they live on farms, highlighting the importance of transparency and responsibility in today’s fashion industry. Many students expressed appreciation for the opportunity to explore fur as a material in depth. They were given a chance to better understand its unique qualities, craftsmanship requirements, and role within contemporary design.

As part of the collaboration, the students are participating in a competition. The winners will be selected and invited to attend a workshop at the Saga Furs Creative Hub in March. The workshop offers hands-on exposure to advanced techniques, materials, and professional practices within the fur industry.

Overall, the visit to Paris College of Art reaffirmed Saga Furs’ commitment to education, transparency, and creative exchange.
