Saga Furs March auction kicked off successfully

Saga Furs long-awaited March online auction started today with highly encouraging mink sale results and more than 100 buyers from all main markets actively bidding. Today on offer was more than 390,000 White and Pearl mink pelts which were basically all sold. The most dominant buyer was China with support from Europe and Korea. The auction was organized online due to the continuing Covid-19 pandemic travel restrictions.

Prices increased significantly compared to most recent levels of this selling round, confirming the confidence and trust in Saga Furs. As a matter of fact, after today´s results the prices of White and Pearl minks have almost doubled in relation to last September.

The result of today confirms the trend that began at our December auction. Increasing sales and the awaited higher prices are a clear sign of market confidence. As the leading auction house we are delighted about these signs of a recovery for the market that has so hard been hit by the coronavirus pandemic,” says Saga Furs Sales Director Mikko Hovén.

The online auction will continue tomorrow with the sale of Silverblue, Sapphire, Palomino and North American mutation mink pelts.

We will publish the next mink sale reports on Friday 5 March and Sunday 7 March. The report about the whole mink auction will be published on Monday 8 March and the result of fox sale and the whole auction on Wednesday 10 March, at the same time with the company’s stock exchange releases in Finnish and Swedish.
