The opening of the Mink auction helped to restore confidence in the market

Saga Furs’ mink auction started today with the offering of Pearl and White mink pelts. First on offer were 300,000 Pearl pelts where the uncertainty of the market was reflected on the opening of the sale. In the end, the pelts achieved 35% clearance at easier prices.“ Saga Furs chose to protect the price structure to stabilise and to help restore confidence in the market,” says CEO Pertti Fallenius.

The 440,000 White mink pelts on offer were over 80% sold with firm prices compared to most recent European levels.

Main buyer today was China with good support from the European fashion industry and South Korea and Russia.

The auction will continue tomorrow with the sale of almost 800,000 Silverblue and Sapphire mink pelts.
