Day 8 stock exchange release / 3 July 2026 at 16:40 EET

Insider information: Saga Furs’ June auction generated brokerage sales of EUR 281 million

Saga Furs’ June auction began on 26 June and concluded today, 3 July. At the largest auction of the season, 4.7 million pelts were offered (June 2025: 4.2 million pelts), and the value of brokerage sales increased to EUR 281 million (June 2025: EUR 127 million).

The auction was highly successful, following the strong results achieved in March. Around 500 buyers attended the auction in Vantaa, and virtually all of the 4.4 million mink pelts and 200,000 fox pelts on offer were sold. Mink prices remained stable, while fox prices increased slightly.

“A total of 4.6 million pelts were sold in a highly active auction, generating brokerage sales of as much as EUR 281 million. Competition in the auction room was intense, reflecting strong market confidence and robust demand for the raw material. The results confirm that the price levels achieved earlier have been maintained,” says Markus Gotthardt, CEO of Saga Furs.

The majority of purchases were made for the Chinese market. Additional buying came from South Korea, Türkiye and Greece, as well as from the Western fashion industry.

The total value of brokerage sales for the financial year has now exceeded EUR 500 million, supporting the company’s previously issued guidance that both revenue and operating profit for the financial year will be clearly higher than in the previous financial year. Expectations for the season’s final auction remain positive.

Following the remarkable success of our March auction, the global fur market enters this June sale with renewed confidence. The significant increase in prices achieved in March marked a turning point for the industry, restoring optimism after several challenging years and providing much-needed returns to producers.

As the world’s leading fur auction house, Saga Furs is proud to continue carrying the responsibility of providing an open, transparent and reliable marketplace for the international fur trade.

Today we welcome more than 400 buyers to the largest auction of the year, including an exceptionally strong delegation from China alongside customers from all major markets. The solid demand seen in today’s Brown Male offering has provided an encouraging start to the sale. This is particularly significant following recent auctions elsewhere that left the market with some uncertainty and mixed price signals.

The industry now looks to Saga Furs for clear market direction. Our objective throughout this auction is to facilitate active trading that supports a healthy and sustainable market. Producers need confidence to continue investing in the future, while buyers need access to commercially viable opportunities. A balanced market serves both interests.

Price movements may naturally vary between individual qualities and assortments, but what matters most is maintaining the strong overall market level established in March. Our aim is to preserve that confidence and, in doing so, once again fulfil our role as the market leader—creating liquidity for producers, enabling profitable business for the trade, and strengthening the foundation for the next production season.

The confidence shown by both our suppliers and our customers has brought us to this point. We thank them for that trust and look forward to another successful auction together.
